Yes, Lee originally bought the land for farming, but being rocky and having minimal water, that never materialized.

In 2000 Lee got to talking with a contractor friend who was looking for a good gravel source in the Madras area. After seeing what the power company had excavated from his property, Lee decided to open Rock n Road Quarry.

Harvesting rock was a much better idea!

In 2019 Lee approached Phil Kaufman, of K3 Construction, with a proposition… Lee wanted to slow down a bit, and thought the quarry would be a good addition to K3’s operation.
